Chi, ki, or psi. It's basically the "force" (for lack of a better word) that is the basic element of life, and every living thing contains it. I prefer to use the word ki, as I speak Japanese and not Chinese, but most western adepts call the force "psi". This force gives us the abilities to levitate, move objects, and manipulate fluids and energy. Anyone interested in learning some basic ki techniques would do well to google the words, avoiding of course all the Dragon Ball sites (that television show seems to have taken basic human ability and exaggerated it for the anime).

PS another way to spell Qigong is Chikung, it's just a different romanji translation.

I was wondering if someone could tell me how to do telekinesis. I live in a dangerous area so it would probably come in handy. I have been told you have to believe it can happen but i am still a little skeptical so any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I don't see how telekinesis will help you protect yourself, to be honest.
I can do it - I can move a tiny, square inch of foil on a needle.
...
I have heard of some people being able to move chairs, though, so obviously when you get good at it sizes and weights become less and less of an issue.

I would suggest learning a self defense martial art, or carrying mace or something. It takes me half an hour of meditation to move the wee little foil, and while I'm far from an expert (In fact, I've still got my training wheels and everything) I really think it'd be more useful to depend on your body's abilities right now until your mind becomes a formidable weapon.

good point. it might help to sharpen your mind though, so you can react to things faster.
that's cool you're having some success with it at least...maybe I'll pick it up again after I get to feeling better.

ok, well something strange happened to me about a week ago, and I'd like to see what you all think.
As I was trying to go to sleep, a picture flashed in my mind of my friend with a haircut. I wasn't thinking about him or haircuts, it just appeared. (he doesn't get haircuts very often either - he likes to grow it out.) Well the next day he had his hair cut like I had pictured.
what do you think? I may be reading into it a little but it seems like a strange coincidence...

Well, I have a firm belief that everyone, EVERYONE, (did I emphasize that enough? Maybe I should add another one) EVERYONE is psychic to some extent, and that likewise, anyone can train themselves to a further extent.
How long have you known this friend? I have 'psychic' moments with a friend I've known for... um... about 12 years I think (keep in mind, I'm only 19, so that's still a good chunk of my life).

Particularly interesting is that this happened when you were trying to sleep. When we lay down to sleep, we generally relax our body and mind and reach a nice receptive state. In this phase, we can notice many things from whatever it is bringing in information... so yeah.

I'll post more on this later, phones ringing.
